CPU and GPU compatibility
3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake) on LGA 4189. Both sockets must carry the same processor model. GPU support depends on the riser and power configuration fitted to the specific chassis, so tell us the accelerator model and count you intend to run and we will confirm the riser set, auxiliary power leads and PSU rating the unit needs.
Double-width cards need the high-performance fan configuration; fitting a single-width card in a double-width slot works with a filler bracket, but the reverse does not.
R750xa vs R750 vs R760xa
The R750 is the general-purpose 2U platform with front storage for 8 to 24 drives and limited GPU support. The R750xa trades front drive count for four double-width GPU bays — the right chassis when accelerators are the workload and storage is secondary. The R760xa is the later 4th/5th Gen Xeon platform with PCIe 5.0; if you are standardising on DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 GPUs, ask us what we hold.
